Marcy Hayden is the Native American Affairs Coordinator for the South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs. She is a board member of the Disability Action Center, Mental Health America-South Carolina, and American Civil Liberties Union of South Carolina. She has served on multiple committees that address a broad range of issues, including transportation and healthcare reform. She recently was appointed to the HHS Regional Health Equity Council (Region IV). She received her BA in anthropology from the University of South Carolina.

Ms. Hayden previously represented South Carolina as a Powwow Princess and Head Women’s Dancer for various Native American organizations across the country. She has been actively involved with Native American communities and tribes for numerous years. She has strengthened her role as an advocate by collaborating with federal, state, and local agencies as well as non-profit organizations to eliminate barriers to socioeconomic growth for tribes, underserved communities, and persons with mental illness and disabilities. She and her husband reside in Cayce, South Carolina.
