Harry Heiman is Director of Health Policy at the Satcher Health Leadership Institute and Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine. He is board certified in family medicine and an American Academy of Family Physicians Fellow. He has over 20 years of clinical practice experience and began his career at Morehouse School of Medicine in 2009. In his current position, he directs a post-doctoral health policy fellowship program for medical, public health, and pharmacy students and residents.

Dr. Heiman received an MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and an MPH from the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. He was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellow in Washington, DC from September 2012-August 2013. He served on the House Energy and Commerce Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives under ranking member Henry Waxman.

Dr. Heiman’s areas of interest and expertise include health policy, health disparities/health equity, and health system transformation. He was appointed to the HHS Regional Health Equity Council (Region IV) in July 2014 and has served on the Public Health and Legislative Committees of the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians. He is Board Chair of Georgians for a Healthy Future, a statewide consumer health advocacy organization.
