Region IV - Southeastern Health Equity Council (SHEC)

Our purpose is to build collaboration and partnerships to achieve health equity in the Southeast region of the U.S.

Vision: A region free of disparities in health and healthcare, where all people attain the highest level of health.

Mission: To inform policy, change systems, and increase awareness for health equity.
 
Priority Areas:
  • Increase funding for Food Financing Initiatives in each state
  • Incorporate Culturally and Linguistic Appropriate Services (CLAS) standards into healthcare professional certification/licensing requirements in each state
  • Lead efforts aimed at reducing the health burden of violence with Region IV
  • Increase access to health care.
